In a recent survey it was revealed that over three-quarters of people who get viral emails pass them on. One in 10 people receives more than 15 viral emails a week, while one in three (31%) receives between two and four a week.
61% of recipients pass on up to a quarter of the emails, depending on content. One in 20 forward on 75% of the viral emails they receive. Over half (55%) send emails to an average three people, while 8% pass them on to over 15 people. Humorous emails are the most likely to be forwarded (90%), followed by those containing useful information (66%). Emails with offers or deals were forwarded by 39% of respondents.
