Borough of Poole

Surf, rest and play

Genre: Corporate Website
Released: 1998

The Borough of Poole Council and Poole Tourism were 4T2's clients from our first day of trading.

In the last decade we have worked closely with them to create and support two distinctive, user-friendly and content-rich websites. The latest version of the Borough of Poole website incorporates many accessibility features as well as content tagging systems that ensure the council complies with e-Government regulations. The content management system allows content from many departments to be presented in a flexible and easy-to-understand manner, supported by a comprehensive A-Z index. This focus on navigating the user simply to the right content has resulted in many accolades and national recognition from organisations as diverse as the Local Government Association and the Guardian Newspaper. For example, the Borough of Poole website was rated as the top unitary authority site in the country by the Society of IT Managers (SOCITM) in 2006. In an annual survey the site was recognised to be among 'Six of the Best' sites in the public sector, ranking it alongside other organisations with far greater resources. 4T2 hopes to continue helping our local community for many years to come and thank the many people we have worked with since 1998 for their support, trust and passion for great online content. We also promise to take any of our clients who make it to our Bournemouth office to the restaurant in the portfolio picture on request!

Sites for sore eyes

Poole borough council, a much smaller local authority, has also created a gem of a website: fabulously simple to navigate.
