Cogitate

The IET

Stretch your grey matter!

Genre: Puzzle
Released: 2009

Cogitate, a game based on the laws of physics, was played over one million times in four months.

The Institution of Engineering and Technology's (IET) highly addictive game allows users to manipulate gears, beams, conveyors and motors in order to complete set puzzles. They then have the option to set puzzles and challenge other players to complete them. Based on the laws of physics, Cogitate rewards players with points for both the creativity and speed of their solutions. The game is a favourite amongst engineering academics, as well as engineering professionals and students. Clare McCulloch, IET Marketing Campaign Manager, said "I am delighted, but not surprised Cogitate is so popular. The game encourages innovation and creativity, both of which are essential to engineering excellence. Most impressive are the solutions themselves, they're truly inventive and represent the IET vision to share and advance knowledge, promoting the fact that engineers are providing solutions to global challenges".

The IET
International Hit

I would have no hesitation recommending 4T2 to other companies. They delivered on time, a high quality product, which has been an international hit. It is currently being played in 187 countries around the world.

Amusing Newgrounds Review
Innovative Solutions

This game requires a user to think outside the sphere. I can honestly admit, this game PISSES ME OFF, but it's so addictive that I can't be pissed at the creator, just myself.....You think of one way to complete a task and then you see another, more "effective" way...."
