4T2 built 23 mini-games for the GTMV Kids Toonattik website from 2006 to 2009.
Each game featured multiple timed levels, the ability to play for either the boys or girls team and a scoring system that integrated into a website we built for the Toonattik show. The content was always designed so that GMTV could film the presenters playing a real life version of the game and then challenge children to have a go themselves online. By working closely, 4T2 and GMTV invented many original methods of creating cross platform linkages between a TV show and a website. For example, by carefully watching the programme each weekend, children could learn how to activate cheat mode and funny mode in the games for that week. When 4T2 first built the site we were worried that the boys team would win the games competition each week. As it was, 51% of the games traffic was female, and that additional 1% meant that the girls won most weeks. A competition we ran with GMTV, where children sent in illustrations of the next game to be built, proved extremely popular and provided us with an amazing insight into what eight year old children would like to play.
We are thrilled with our new website and games. Our advertisers are also delighted. And, best of all - KIDS LOVE IT!
