4T2 have been making Flash based car games since 2001. Let's take a look under the dust covers.
Our first racing game was built in 2001 and was called ISC Racer. The actual event it was built to support lasted for all of one race on 3 June 2001 at Donington Park. However, the campaign itself generated more traffic than we ever could have imagined. This led to 4T2 taking games seriously. Vauxhall rebranded this promotion to create the massive global hit 'VXR Racer' in 2002. If you want to know exactly what you can fit into 508k, play the game below. Created when every byte counted! Exchange & Mart were impressed with the results this campaign generated which led to http://xchase.co.uk. Developed in 2003, this was our first game that recorded your key presses. The follow up to VXR Racer was CorsaSeek, a pixel art based hide and seek game that was featured on the corresponding TV advert in January 2006. Ahh... I can still remember the days when motor companies sold their vehicles by showing images of the car as opposed to randy teddy bears who listen to iPods!
Check out the top down cows in the ISC screenshot. Classy.
