An advergame to promote CBBC's Virtual World - Adventure Rock
This campaign serves as an introduction to the environments and characters children will meet when they download the full 'Adventure Rock' game from the BBC. A browser based mini game can be freely placed in many locations and is much more accessible than a download. Engage your audience, clearly demonstrate the potential for fun and then point the player towards where they can access it. Console games are starting to be promoted in a similar manner. We suspect that very soon you will be able to unlock content in a console game by completing aspects of the advergame promoting it. We can see no reason this is not possible right now on an Xbox 360 as you can view your console based achievements via a web browser, therefore unlocking some should also be possible... 'Jump To It' is a simple and effective browser-based game that introduces the CBBC audience to a larger downloadable game 'Adventure Rock'. Download figures for 'Adventure Rock' shot up by 50% in the weeks that followed the launch of 'Jump To It', and both games continue to be very popular with the CBBC audience.
